GIFT Nifty indicated that Indian equity indices BSE Sensex and NSE Nifty 50 may see a muted opening on Wednesday. Here’s a look at the key stocks to watch in trade.

Stocks in Focus: GIFT Nifty traded marginally higher as the index was up 10 points or 0.04% at 25,012 indicating a flat start for domestic indices NSE Nifty 50 and BSE Sensex on Wednesday. On Tuesday, the NSE Nifty 50 closed the session 7 points or 0.03% higher at 25,018, while the BSE Sensex rose 14 points or 0.02% to close at 81,712.

Hindustan Unilever 

Hindustan Unilever (HUL) has received a tax notice of Rs 962.75 crore, including an interest of Rs 329.33 crore for the Rs 3,045-crore acquisition of the India Health Food Drink (HFD) business from the GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) Group, the FMCG major said on Tuesday.

NBCC 

NBCC is likely to distribute bonus shares to the shareholders after approval from the board at its upcoming board meet. NBCC informed the shareholders, through an exchange filing, that a meeting of the board of directors of the company is scheduled to be held on Saturday, August 31.

ICICI Prudential Life Insurance 

ICICI Prudential Life Insurance Company received a tax demand of Rs 429.05 crore from the Deputy Commissioner of State Tax, Maharashtra. The GST demand includes Rs 208.02 crore, Rs 200.22 crore in interest, and Rs 20.80 crore in penalties, said the company in an exchange filing.

Zydus Lifesciences 

Zydus Lifesciences received the final approval from the US FDA to market Amantadine extended-release capsules, 68.5 mg, and tentative approval for 137 mg dosage. The approved formulation is a generic version of Gocovri (amantadine) extended-release capsules. Amantadine extended-release capsules are indicated for the treatment of dyskinesia in patients with Parkinson’s disease receiving levodopa-based therapy, with or without concomitant dopaminergic medications.

Wipro 

Wipro has expanded its partnership with Dell Technologies to integrate its AI enterprise solutions and provide enterprises with best-in-class technology and the latest in chip designs.

Vodafone Idea

The government has no immediate plan to divest its  23.8% stake in Vodafone Idea, which was reduced from about 33% after the company’s follow-on public offer (FPO) earlier this year. This decision is contingent upon visible signs of a turnaround in the telco’s operations, reported Moneycontrol citing sources.

UPL 

UPL Global Ltd (UGL), a step-down subsidiary of UPL Corporation Ltd, has acquired the remaining 20% stake in PT Excel Meg Indo, an Indonesian company involved in the agrochemical sector.

PNC Infratech has recently informed the exchanges that it received an order worth Rs 380 crore from NHAI for the construction of an additional 3-lane Bridge over River Ganga to connect Buxar and Bharauli on NH-922 in Uttar Pradesh and Bihar on Hybrid Annuity Mode (HAM).

SBI Cards and Payment Services 

SBI Cards and Payment Services Chairman of the Board and Non-executive Director Dinesh Khara has stepped down from the directorship of the company, effective August 27, after completing his term as the Chairman of State Bank of India (SBI).

Godrej Agrovet 

Godrej Agrovet has acquired an additional 49% stake in Godrej Tyson Foods Ltd. from Tyson India Holdings Ltd. After the acquisition, Godrej Agrovet’s stake in Godrej Tyson Foods has risen from 51% to 100%, according to an exchange filing.
